Recife & Olinda

One of the many old churches of Olinda. Our walk through the streets was a journey back in time.

The laid-back atmosphere and the vibrant artistic way-of-life were a great mix!

We had an enthusiastic church guide, who has been taking care of this church for over 30 years

 The town's location, on a hill, provides spectacular views, with the emerald sea framing it

The old centre in Recife has been restored to its full beauty and well deserves a visit

National Park Fernando de Noronha

One of the many view-points during the daily treks. The Baía do Sancho Beach is considered to be the most beautiful beach of Brazil!

Bird-watching was made easy by the abundant bird life in the Park

Beautiful rock formations and pristine beaches all around the island. This is Cacimba 

do Padre Beach

From Dec. to March the waves are great for surfing

Noronha's geeko. They are everywhere and have a special liking for food from tourist's bags. Be aware!

Another viewpoint to appreciate the incredible natural beauty of the National Park

Scuba diving is excellent on the outer reefs! We saw a few sharks and many turtles! Fun!!

Porto de Galinhas & area- near Recife

Clear and warm waters for a delightful time enjoying the beach

The area around Porto de Galinhas offers secluded bays 

and unspoiled beaches

The small village has good options for shoping and nightlife

Natal & Genipabu

We passed through fantastic scenery during the buggy ride to the dunes. 

And there they go!! Adventure on the dunes of Genipabu, ending up swimming in the lagoon 20 meters below!

And this is the curious way the local people devised to pull the trolley- using an old beetle's engine. It works!

That is how we crossed the inumerous shallow rivers during the tour. All part of the fun!

João Pessoa

Surrounded by mangrooves and crossed by rivers, João Pessoa is the third greenest city in the world

Miles of uspoiled beaches...

Our guide Mozart was fun and knowledgeable. James was not sure about holding the crab...

We enjoyed walking and swimming on the pristine beaches of Paraíba

... but finally decided to give it a try. This huge crab, despite his fearsome looks, is quite tamed after all!!
