and beautiful forest around it! Bonito- MS |
Walkways
on the way to Sucuri River, passing through the forest in Bonito.
The local guides have a very good knowledge of the local fauna and
flora.
|
The
spring of Sucuri River, where the river starts (the water comes from
underground). The tones of green and blue are amazing! |
One
of the many natural pools formed on the base of the waterfalls.
Great for swimming and massaging the back under the falls. The
scenery is fantastic! |
A
Sucuri snake, this one a pet on the farm. You can get very close for
a picture- apparently a harmless animal! Did we get close enough? |
The
Abyss Anhumas is an unforgettable adventure- from the absailing of
72 m to enter the cave.... |
...
to the scuba diving around the huge cones (they provide you with a
flashlight- it's almost a night dive). We did it all and definetely
don't regret. The "Abyss" was the highlight of our trip to
Bonito (we like adventure sports!) |
The
fish in Rio da Prata snorkelling trip were the most colorful and
abundant. The almost 2 km down the river was a delightful experience
to the eyes |
Foz do Iguaçu
|
The
train in the Argentinean side, taking you closer to the falls. A
short scenic ride.
Foz
do Iguaçu- PR |
The
walkways in the Argentinean side, providing different angles from
the falls. We wanted to see them all! |
The
famous "Devil's Throat" in the Argentinean side. An amazing
amount of water, pure energy!
Absolutely
beautiful! |
One
of the many view points on the Brazilian side, providing a panoramic
view of the falls. Incredibly big! |
Tati
in a view point in the Brazilian side. The opportunities for pictures
are many. |
The
Macuco Safari tour, in the mouth of the falls, moments before us
arriving to the base of the big falls (in the far end). The boat
driver manouvers very close to rocks, going up the river, making it a
great adventure! |
Do
you see the boat there, under the falls? It's us, shouting hurray and
getting soaking wet!
What a thrill! |
The
electric powered vehicle that will take you through the forest and
down to the river bank, where your adventure starts. The guide
explains about the flora and fauna on the way. |
Another
way to see the river and the forest surrounding it, is taking part in
a trip by rowing boat, taking it slow to admire the river margins. |
Pantanal
|
Pantanal:
going through the walkways to arrive to your room you can see
alligators, monkeys capybaras and many colourful birds. |
The
adapted vehicle that took us through the wetlands of Pantanal for a
photo safari. Great fun, altough the mosquitos could still follow us! |
On
the farms we went horseriding. The horses are easy to manage and the
best way to see the Pantanal - we even crossed some small streams with
them. |
A
deserved rest on hammocks after the activities and a big homemade lunch
on the farm in Pantanal |
Our
guide guaranteed that the river in that part didn't have alligators or
piranhas. Would you believe him? We did and had a great swim, although
we still don't understand why the guide himself didn't enter the water! |
We
saw a couple of lontras (otters) in the rivers, sharing the area with
many alligators. They were playful and liked to show off.
