MANAUS
Nicknamed
the "Paris of the Jungle", Manaus has museums, historical
buildings and Institutes of Research for the delight of visitors entering
the Amazon region.
AMAZON
The Amazon Forest is considered to be one of the
most beautiful and important ecological sanctuaries on the planet. It has
the biggest portion of tropical forest in the Planet and it contains one
of the biggest diversities of life on Earth.
ITINERARY
Day 1 –
Manaus
Arrival in the Airport of
Manaus and transfer to your hotel. Rest of
day free.

Day 2 -
Manaus
Tour
Cruise
on the Negro River and Meeting of the waters with lunch.
Cruise
on the Negro River passing in front of the city, the Manaus Floating Harbor, the
Municipal Market and the meeting of the Solimoes and Negro Rivers (The meeting
of the Waters), that form the Amazonas River. Sometimes it's possible to see
botos (fresh water dolphins). Afterwards visit the January Ecological reserve,
where it’s possible to see the famous water lilly, an aquatic plant, natural
from lakes in the rain forest.
Visit
to the handicraft fair, where caboclos (the local people) produce souvenirs and crafts with
materials like feathers, bones and seeds, also used by the Indians of the
region.
By
motorized canoe, we take an unforgettable ride in the channels and creeks (depending
on the water level)

Day 3 -
Manaus / Jungle Lodge
City
tour of Manaus.
Departure
from Hotel, driving a journey following the Negro River into the city centre. We will visit the Municipal
Market, built at the beginning of the century. Inside its metallic structure we
can find regional products: fish, fruit and herbs. Afterwards, we will pass by
the Government Palace, and take a view of the nearby creek with the typical
houses on stilts (palafitas). Then, we will visit the Indian museum, belonging
to the Salesian Roman Catholic Nuns, Where we can appreciate some of the culture
of the local upper Rio Negro tribes. Our final destination: the Amazon Opera
House, the main symbol from the golden ages of the rubber boom, inaugurated in
1896, with all the splendour
from that period. Return to Hotel.
In the afternoon, transfer to the Jungle Lodge
on a regional
boat.
Reception and
dinner.
Night tour in small boats, spotting alligators with a flashlight, along the
riverbank.

Day 4 – Jungle Lodge
Tours
during your stay in the jungle depend on the Jungle Lodge chosen.
Normally

sunrise tour. guided walks in the Amazon forest, a visit to a native village
and house, piranha fishing, observation of "botos " (fresh water
dolphins),
visit
to a fluvial beach, alligator spotting and boat rides among the creeks.

Accommodation:
Double rooms can have separate beds or not. A third person depending on the
hotel has the possibility of using a sofa bed. Consult for children policy.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
RESPONSIBILITY: Brasil Travel / Melchior & Hodson Ltda and/or agencies
involved with the packages, flights and tours shall act only as agents of
the tour members in making arrangements for hotels and any other service and
do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss,
accident or delay to persons or property due to an act of God, default by
any hotel, company or person rendering any of services included on the tours
or flights.
Furthermore, no responsibility is accepted for quarantine, government
restraints, weather or other causes beyond their personal control. No
responsibility is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays,
re-routing or acts of government authority. The payment for the reservation
shall constitute consent to all provisions in the "General Conditions" as
published herein.
PAYMENT POLICY: The total cost for the services requested must be received
at least 30 days prior to guest' arrival in order to prepay and guarantee
the reservation. Some hotels and resorts have different payment policies
that could involve payments due up to six weeks prior to arrival during
specific special dates, or will only accept a reservation with an immediate
prepayment.
Brasil Travel will accept VISA or Mastercard Credit/Debit Cards or wire
transfers.
The prices are subject to change without notice until reservation is paid
for.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations are subject to penalties depending on the
hotel and season. Note that in many instances, there is a strict
cancellation penalty for those reservations cancelled or for "No-shows"
especially during holidays and special dates. Cancellation periods range
from three (03) days to forty-five (45) days and cancellation penalties
range from one (01) nights' stay to the entire length of stay.
NOTES: Our prices include only what is stated in the fax or e-mails sent.
Other fees, such as energy, maid service, phone calls, laundry, bellman or
any other extra expenses are not included.
For transfers, two (02) pieces of luggage plus one (01) carry-on allowed per
person. An additional cost may be charged by driver for any extra additional
luggage.

choice is not available.

or for economy changes which could affect the prices and conditions of
reservations without warning.
