Praia do Forte

More than 12 km of paradisiac beaches, with natural pools formed by reefs along the coast and the coconut trees make Praia do Forte an invitation to relaxing. The Tamar Project (Conservation of Marine Turtles that lay eggs on these beaches), a  medieval castle -the only in Brazil, besides the charming old fishing village are attractions not to be missed.

   

Morro de São Paulo

Located in the island of Tinharé, about 250 Km South of Salvador, Morro de São Paulo has miles of paradisiac calm beaches, forming natural pools, great for snorkeling and swimming. During the summer, the nightlife is animated.

Information - Bahia Local Tours

Tour 1 - Panoramic City Tour (3 hours) - Tour through the residential area of Salvador, where you will visit the Port of São Pedro (1700), the Gold Market, the Church of Trindade, the Monserrat Church (1600), Port of Santa Maria and Castro Alves Theatre.


Tour 2 - Historical City Tour with Market Modelo (half day) -
Starting point of the Brazilian History, Salvador has the most precious patrimony of colonial architecture of Brazil. Our visit will start at the fort of “SANTO ANTÔNIO DA BARRA”, known as the “FAROL DA BARRA” (lighthouse of Barra), then going up to the Cidade Alta (the upper town), along the Corredor da Vitória, 2nd of July Square and the Theater Castro Alves. But the main interest of our tour will be for the “PELOURINHO” area, pointed by the UNESCO as the most important colonial complex  of the XVII and XVIII centuries still existing in the world. There we will see the church of “SÃO FRANCISCO DE ASSIS” known as the golden church; the place where the slaves were sold and punished, the Museum of the City, and the church and museum of the Carmelites. Visit to the Market Modelo, the biggest handcraft market of the city, with a stop for shopping. Visit a Silver handicraft shop.


Tour 3 - Praia do Forte - Full Day with Lunch (7 hours) - On this excursion we will go up the north coast, home of the most beautiful beaches in Bahia, making stops at Aramepe (a hippie community), Itacimirim and the historical Garcia D’Avila Castle. In Praia do Forte we will visit the Tamar Marine Turtle Project and will have time for relaxing on this wonderful beach.


Tour 4 - Folklore Show (4 hours) - Including round trip transport featuring “candoble”, “capoeira" and “maculele". Dinner will be served on a typical restaurant.


Tour 5  - Itaparica Island Tour wlth Lunch (8 hours) - This beautiful excursion will take you through the calm waters of the “Bahia de "Todos os Santos” (Bay of all Saints). After a stop for a swim in the sea at Frade Island, considered to be one of the most beautiful islands of Bahia, we will move on to Itaparica Island.

            

Tour 6 - Historical tour to Cachoeira with Lunch - This is a tour to the historical town of Cachoeira where you will learn more about the history of the settlers in this area including the slaves.

 

Tour 7 - Canoe tour in Praia do Forte- Canoe Tour in Canadian Kayaks in the Lagoon Timeantube following a trail to Dendê Island, desembarking for a walk to observe the local fauna and flora.  Duration: about 1h30min.

 

Tour 8 - Horseriding in Praia do Forte- horseriding on the dunes.

 

Tour 9 - Snorkeling in Praia do Forte- snorkeling in the natural pool "The Aquarium", including basic equipment and guide.

 

Tour 10- Parasailing in Praia do Forte- parasailing over the Praia do Forte to a hight of 60 meters. Beautiful views.

 

Tour 11- Observation of Birds in Praia do Forte- boat tour along the water, among trees and plants, until the Monkey's Island, with a guide explaining about the birds seen.
