In an area of only 22,000 km2, the
State of Sergipe gathers attractions for all visitors. There are
options for those seeking to rest, for those who are crazy for
adventure, for those seeking entertainment and leisure, and even for
those who want to know the history of the region.
The capital, Aracaju, is the first
planned city in Brazil. The large avenues and the modern
architecture make it an important urban center, without losing the
atmosphere of tranquility. The quality of life is one of the reasons
that make the residents proud.
Aracaju is also famous for its
coast. There are 30km of coast, with the beautiful beaches of Coroa
do Meio, Atalaia, Aruana, Robalo, Náufragos, Refúgio and Mosqueiro,
where pleasure comes from alternating a dip in the warm waters with
the delicious seafood snacks. Among other attractions, the city also
offers a Historic Center, with old buildings dating from the
beginning of its construction.
Those who decide to explore the
173km of beaches in the State will be faced with true natural
wonders. Coconut trees, dunes, lagoons, virgin jungles and
marshlands are some of the landscapes that will make the trip an
unforgettable experience.
The beaches of Saco, Abaís, Pontal,
Terra Caída, Caueira and Sossego Island unite all the beauty of the
Dunes Coast, on the Southern coast. On the North coast, Manguezais
Coast shelters a region of unexplored beaches, such as Ponta dos
Mangues, in the municipaliity of Pacatuba, and Pirambu, where one of
the branches of the Tamar Project is based, and the Santa Isabel
Ecologic Reserve.
The coast is fascinating, but
tourism in the State of Sergipe is not only based on beaches. The
Saint John festivities are also famous, such as the one in Estância,
which lasts 40 consecutive days, and the one in Areia Branca, a
municipality with a “forródromo” with 50 thousand m2.
Those who prefer sweetwater can
visit the Xingó Canyon, formed by rocky walls
reaching up to 50m height, or navigate on the San Francisco River,
from the municipality of Brejo Grande, 137km from the capital, and
finish the trip on the estuary, the stunning clash of the “Old
Chico" with the Atlantic Ocean waters.
Natural beauties, historic
heritage, leisure and entertainment. There are enough reasons for
you to visit the State of Sergipe. Come, and become a fan!
